What causes constipation?

Poor diet is often the cause, but can be from intestinal blockage – in which case, see GI Stasis for more details.

What are the symptoms of constipation?

Rabbit may become lethargic, stops eating and drinking, may show signs of pain such as grinding teeth, stomach may be bloated, and rabbit will not be able to poop.

What are the medicinal treatments for constipation?

Vet may offer oral laxative or enema, as well as other prescription based medications.
